Any DVC reservation secured with David’s Vacation Club Rentals after March 18, 2024 now qualifies for our new Deferred Dreams cancellation policy, to provide guests with some pixie dust and peace of mind when planning their dream Disney vacation.
This no-fuss policy allows guests to cancel their DVC points rental reservation and receive the Deferred Dreams Travel Credit, which offers the flexibility to reschedule the magic anytime within 3 years of cancellation!
How Do I ‘Defer the Dream’?
If your reservation was secured on or after March 18th, 2024, you can contact us by email on team@dvcrequest.com to let us know you would like to ‘defer the dream’ and cancel your booking. Our team of Vacation Coordinators will be in touch within 24 hours to guide you smoothly through the next steps!
What Is The Cancellation Schedule?
Due to the complexity of the point system, the value of your Deferred Dreams Travel Credit is determined by the below cancellation schedule;

What Does This Policy Cover?
The Deferred Dreams cancellation policy covers accommodations secured with us via point rentals only.
We strongly recommend all guests explore the possibility of taking out supplementary travel/trip cancellation insurance to protect other bookings you may have made (including but not limited to park tickets, flights, or dining plans that cannot be canceled in time) that are not covered by this Deferred Dreams cancellation policy.
Guests canceling within 14 days of their check-in date are not covered by the Deferred Dreams policy, so if you have taken out travel insurance/trip cancellation insurance and need to cancel within 14 days of arrival, please let us know.

What If I Booked Prior To The Deferred Dreams Policy?
Guests who secured their reservation prior to March 18, 2024 are still subject to the terms of their original Rental Agreement and our All Sales Final policy. Cancellations, modifications and refunds are not permitted. If you are unable to travel for your reservation and secured your stay prior to March 18, 2024, please contact our team for more information.

David’s Vacation Club Rentals (“DVCR”) Deferred Dreams Cancellation Policy provides flexibility for guests to cancel their non-refundable reservations secured through DVCR, regardless of the reason, allowing them to qualify for a DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credit. The process for claiming and utilizing these credits is detailed below:
Cancellation Process:
1. Cancellation Schedule:

- Applies to reservations paid in full; no DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credits will be issued for initial deposit payments.
- Cancellation requests must be received in writing by 5:30pm EST, based on days prior to the check-in date, to qualify for each respective level.
2. Claim Process: A Guest may qualify for a DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credit based on the following information:
- a. Guests may cancel their reservation for any reason.
- b. Cancellations must be initiated by contacting DVCR's Vacation Coordinator Team via email (team@dvcrequest.com).
- c. A response from DVCR will be provided back to the guest within 24 hours, with the exception of Statutory Holidays, confirming their intent to cancel.
- d. Any alterations (including but not limited to lead guest change, change of travel dates, resort change, room type change) to the reservation are considered cancellations and subject to the DVCR Deferred Dreams Cancellation Policy conditions. A new reservation is treated independently and will have no tie to the original Rental Agreement.
- e. DVCR will provide the guest with the amount of their Deferred Dreams Travel Credit, based on the Cancellation Schedule and the timestamp on the guest’s original email requesting to cancel.
- f. Once a cancellation is confirmed, DVCR will issue a Deferred Dreams Travel Credit, in the amount calculated in section e. above, within 14 business days.
- g. Coverage extends only to the Disney Vacation Club Reservation Number associated with the Rental Agreement; no extras (including but not limited to park tickets, dining plans) are covered.
- h. If cancellation is requested less than 15 days prior to check-in, no Deferred Dreams Travel Credits will be provided, per the Cancellation Schedule. Guests should, and have been advised to, consider traditional travel insurance for coverage within the 0-15 day window.
Credit Usage:
3. Expiration: DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credits are valid for 36 months from original Cancellation Date of the reservation.
- a. DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credits have no cash value.
- b. DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credits can only be used for new DVCR Reservations, new Cruise Reservations booked through DVCR or new Adventures by Disney Reservations booked through DVCR; add-ons, including but not limited to, park tickets, Disney Dining plans, cruise activities, are not eligible.
- c. DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credits can be used across multiple reservations and/or in conjunction with cash for reservations exceeding the credit’s value.
- d. DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credits can be used in combination with one another if a guest has multiple.
- e. If a reservation is booked using more than one DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credit, and is subsequently cancelled, any non-refundable amounts will be subtracted from the DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credit expiring first.
- f. A DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credit will be considered null and void in the event that TWO cancellations occur across the reservations that is has been used to secure, in accordance with the terms outlined here. The remaining DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credit becomes null and void upon the completion of the second cancellation.
4. Exclusions: Costs beyond accommodations outlined in a DVCR Rental Agreement are excluded from the DVCR Deferred Dreams Travel Credit amount, including but not limited to, airline tickets, park tickets, tours, transportation services, cruise activities, and Disney Dining Plans.
